26th Sunday of Ordinary Time

Make a quiet statement in the next few days during our second annual Barefoot for Babies week.  Any time this week, forgo shoes in memory of those who, because of abortion, will never be able to leave their footprints on this world.  Balance your good works with prayer during our 12 hours of shifts at the Garden of Hope for 40 Days for Life Tuesday and Wednesday.

Also this week: loved hearing about the Poland pilgrimage?  Newman is planning another pilgrimage for shortly after graduation and all interested students are invited to join the discussion Tuesday at 8p on location, cost, and logistics.

Check out Bulletin-2013-09-29 for more information on these events and others, including intramural flag football games and Saturday’s campfire at Keystone Lake.  And, finally, read on for a look ahead to next week’s Gospel.

27th Sunday of Ordinary Time (October 6, 2013)

Luke 17:5-10

The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith.”
The Lord replied,
“If you have faith the size of a mustard seed,
you would say to this mulberry tree,
‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.

“Who among you would say to your servant
who has just come in from plowing or tending sheep in the field,
‘Come here immediately and take your place at table’?
Would he not rather say to him,
‘Prepare something for me to eat.
Put on your apron and wait on me while I eat and drink.
You may eat and drink when I am finished’?
Is he grateful to that servant because he did what was commanded?
So should it be with you.
When you have done all you have been commanded,
say, ‘We are unprofitable servants;
we have done what we were obliged to do.'”
